Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Redding Residents Directory. Using the reference means accepting them; do not use it if you cannot accept the rules below.

1. What Redding Residents Directory Is

Redding Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections connected to Redding, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a government office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or a result obtained through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or impersonation
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the pages at scale
  • Interfere with site operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

Redding Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Material here, and output from a linked tool, is not a consumer report and may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Links

Government portals, libraries, archives, and third-party services have separate terms and policies. Redding Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, price, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied as is and as available. No warranty promises that a statement is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose, or that an outside portal will work or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record found through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to protect and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, and reasonable attorney fees arising from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is allowed; republishing a full page or systematically copying the collection is not.

9. Changes

Updated terms take effect when a new version is posted. Continued use after that posting means the revised terms are accepted.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms or abuses the reference. This may occur without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, describes access to identifiable public records, but it does not require disclosure of exempt information or creation of a new resident list.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
